Andrew MacDonald won a Western Magazine Award for Fiction, the Deborah Slosberg Memorial Award, and has been shortlisted for the Canadian National Magazine Award for Fiction on multiple occasions. He is a four-time finalist for the McClelland & Stewart / Writers Trust of Canada Journey Prize, and is a graduate of the MFA Program for Poets and Writers at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.
He divides his time between Toronto and New England, where he’s finishing a novel called When We Were Vikings.
